Or should I use hand dish soap to carpet clean?
Since my dishwasher broke, I’ve got 3 boxes of machine dish soap I can use.
Also, when the carpet is dry from regular carpet cleaning, is it okay for my birds to land on it (I noticed the birds clean their feet too)?
Both are good answers. I could try a baking soda/powder with water solution or something else like that too.
