My apartment is offering me free carpet cleaning or a $50 gas card to renew my lease, but I can’t decide which one.

I walk to work but I can always use the gas, but I could use the carpet cleaning as well. Which one?
My carpet isn’t that bad, and I can probably do it myself for like $30. I’ve lived here a year. My friend says my carpet stinks, but he says everything stinks so I’m not sure if I believe him.

I live in an apartment in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, Los Angeles.

I want to clean the carpet in just one of the rooms.

Should I just rent a Rug Docotor? Are those machines good? Or would it be better to just hire a carpet cleaning service?

The whole-house air conditioning unit in my apartment is located indoors. The unit was leaking for sometime before I even realized that it was occuring (w/i the past 4-5 weeks). The carpet was saturated and now the landlord is willing to have the carpet cleaned but not replaced. Will just having them professionally cleaned kill and prevent mold growth?
So if the padding is wet and there’s mold growth.. there’s really no reason to have it cleaned correct?

I am trying to get a small carpet cleaning company started to fund my college and expenses. I was wondering how to get the property managers to give me their work. I was thinking about low prices to get in the door like 35-1br and so on… any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

We will be moving in one week and landlord has given a bill saying that we owe for the carpet cleaning on our apartment, BUT he hasn’t even seen our carpet! The carpet is only normal wear and tear, it looks the same as when we got here only 3 weeks ago!
