The previous owners of our house had someone clean the carpet and now the carpet has this pink tint in the areas where it has been cleaned.

Does anyone know what happened? What kind of chemicals he may have used to cause this? We’ve tried a ChemDry cleaning service, and even they couldn’t figure out what specifically caused the pink tint and how to get it out.

I know that a use of baking soda is to clean carpets, and that you can leave it there and then vacuum it up. I realized that I did the first step, but sort of just scrubbed the white carpet with a dry towel and never vacuumed. Can leaving the baking soda on the carpet cause damage? Because I might not return to the house that this occurred in for a while. Is it urgent that I get there anytime soon? As in, can the baking soda leave a new stain?
