We own a small carpet & upholstery cleaning business, and it seems like its slowed down for the past 3 weeks since New Years. Is this a sign that we are not doing something right or is there a down turn at the begining of the year?

start up a carpet cleaning small business within my area. I would carry on working doing what I’m doing anyway, but try to build the business up slowly, around the hours that I work. I don’t really have any capital. I was thinking down the lines of renting the machinery on a monthlly basis.

I started a carpet cleaning business in a decent size city. Right now we are waiting till Dec to really get going because that is when our yellow page ad comes out. We have tried mailing flyers and postcards, putting ads in the local paper and hung up flyers at local stores. We’ve gone door to door and apartment to apartment. Now we need some really great ideas that don’t cost a whole lot of money. Do you have any ideas???
